About this hammam
Kilic Ali Pasa Hammam was commissioned by Kilic Ali Pasa, a famed admiral and conqueror of the seas. Originally, the hammam was built to serve sailors.
Today, Kilic Ali Pasa Hammam is recognized as one of the symbols of Tophane, renowned for its architectural innovations and its impressive dome, the second-largest hammam dome in Istanbul.
After an extensive seven-year renovation, the hammam reopened in 2017, welcoming visitors with traditional Turkish hospitality.
Kilic Ali Pasa Hammam has received notable recognition, winning the Europa Nostra Prize in 2016 and the National Architecture Award in 2017.

Men & Woman are served at different times of the day so do not expect to bring your significant other with you. They must come another time. You’ll lau down on a massive hot marble and then you’re massaged and bathed by your masseuse. Highly recommended

The booking process was convenient, allowing me to reserve online and pay on the spot, but the actual service was lacking. It all depends on the person providing the treatment, and unfortunately, my experience wasn’t great. The staff member started applying harsh pressure on my face without asking if I wanted that area treated. I had a rash afterwards on that side of my face.
Throughout the session, she kept throwing hot water on me, and I had to ask her to switch to cold. While she knew some English, she rushed through the entire experience, which made it unenjoyable. If you’re in a similar situation, I would recommend asking for another therapist if you’re uncomfortable.

Staff were all very friendly and attentive, and the gentleman that looked after me during the treatment did a fantastic job. You are made to feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout your whole time here. It is a beautiful building and it is perfectly clean. Highly recommend visiting for a traditional Hamam experience.
