Gedikpasa Hamam, built in 1475 by Gedik Ahmet Pasha, is one of Istanbul's oldest and most historic bathhouses. It offers an authentic Turkish bath experience, featuring traditional Ottoman architecture with elegant tiles and domed ceilings.
The hamam has separate sections for men and women, providing a peaceful atmosphere where guests can enjoy classic treatments. It remains a key part of Istanbul’s bathhouse culture, blending history with modern-day restoration efforts.
I had the most wonderful, relaxing time. My therapist, Ayfer, was so sweet and patient with me. I don’t speak turkish and traveling alone here can be stressful, so coming to this hammam was a true blessing. I got the “lost in time” treatment that comes with hammam and a foot rub. After walking around Greece and Istanbul for 2 weeks it’s just what I needed. The foam massage was like sleeping in a cloud. I felt welcomed and relaxed from beginning to end.
